What is included in the VAL travel experience?
The VAL Standard on your journey provides each guest with:

Additionally, your VAL journey also includes:

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments via Credit card
What is your cancellation policy?
Guests are required to pay a deposit to hold their place on the tour. Please note our initial deposit is non-refundable.
90 days before departure – 75% refund
60 days before departure – 50% refund
30 days before departure – 25% refund
After 30 days before departure – no-refunds
What kind of documentation do I need?
All guests are required to have and provide us with:
- Passport and a copy
- Visa and a copy
- Medical letter certifying ability to travel
- List of medical prescriptions
- Other medical documents needed ( we will provide a full list of medical documents needed – we need a page)
- Emergency contact list
Do I need vaccines to travel abroad?

Can I arrange my own flight?
Yes guests are welcome to arrange their own flight. Our 14 day Bali Itineraries do not include airfare, but we will be happy to help you make flight arrangements if needed.
How much luggage can I bring?
Please check with your airline for luggage requirements.
Who are my nurses?
All guests will be accompanied by our Canadian nurses during the flight portion of the journey. During your stay at your destination, our destination nurse team will be assisting you throughout your vacation. All of our destination nurse teams are trained to international standards through our VAL training program
How large are the tour groups?
All of our tour groups are 15 guests maximum. The average group size is 6-10 guests plus care companions.
How will I travel to and from my tour excursions at my destination?
We provide a private bus for all our day excursions. Additionally, a private vehicle and guide will accompany you on your Choose Your Own Adventure Days.
I’m travelling with a group. Will there be a discount for us?

Can we hire a VAL nurse for our own private family trip?

What if I cannot continue my trip because I become ill or my medical condition changes?
What if a natural disaster occurs?
VAL has a fully developed protocol in case of emergencies and natural disasters. In case of a natural disaster (e.g. earthquake, flood, tsunami, hurricane, monsoon, landslide, volcano eruption) the tour will follow the natural disaster planning protocol for your destination area. VAL emergency procedures will be implemented to ensure our guests’ safety and security. A satellite phone will be readily available to every tour group in emergency situations to keep communications open.

Bali Indonesia uses the IDR or Indonesian Rupiah

What if I don’t feel comfortable with my designated nurse?
We do a client profiling before your trip to match you with your best possible care companion; however, if you would like to change your care companion we will be happy to any changes to suit your needs.
Do I need to bring cash?
We do recommend bringing a small amount of cash for personal use in the street markets or food stalls where cards payment may not be available.
What happens if a medical emergency occurs during the trip?
Your qualified nurse will be on hand to professionally assess the situation and will take appropriate action according to the situation.
I require a wheelchair, will I still be able to travel with VAL?
Yes, all our tours are fully accessible and are supported by your personal care companion.
